Getting a Prescription

Since people will suffer from varying degrees of hypothyroidism, prescribed doses of Nature-Throid™ must be individualized. Your doctor will discuss with you the recommended dose based on your blood tests and your specific body needs.

Getting Started
Most doctors will start your treatment with a low dose of Nature-Throid™ and monitor your symptoms over the next few weeks to months. During this time your doctor may order more blood tests to see if you need any dosing adjustments. It’s important to be patient during this initial phase. Your body will need time to adjust to any dose changes.

Remember that your body is unique and you may require more or less Nature-Throid™ than others to maintain optimal health. Your dose will depend on the results of your blood tests, age, medical conditions, medications and other factors.

Nature-Throid™ Dosage Instructions
Always take Nature-Throid™ as prescribed by your doctor and do not change dosing. If you are experiencing any symptoms, your doctor will assess whether or not a dosage change is needed.

Even if your symptoms lessen or completely disappear, do not stop taking your medication until you consult with your doctor. If you change your dose, your doctor will not be able to assess whether or not your current dose is working.

It’s best to take Nature-Throid™ on an empty stomach and at least 30 minutes before eating. You may find it helpful to take it upon waking. To maximize absorption, allow at least 4 hours between your Nature-Throid™ dose and other medications, supplements or foods that have the potential to interact with Nature-Throid™ such as antacids, calcium supplements, soy or dietary fiber. Your doctor can supply you with a list of possible negative interactions.
